Psalm 105

He remembers His covenant forever, The word which He commanded, for a thousand generations, The covenant which He made with Abraham, And His oath to Isaac, And confirmed it to Jacob for a statute, To Israel as an everlasting covenant, Saying, "To you I will give the land of Canaan As the allotment of your inheritance,"

(Psalms 105:8-11)

This is a great reminder to all of us of just how faithful God is to keep His promises. Here in America, we are nearing another election. During this season, politicians make all kinds of promises that they never really intend on keeping. I am so glad that our God is not a politician. He doesn’t say things to win voters, or allow popular opinion to shape His policies… No, our God is forever faithful and UNCHANGING.

Here we see that God has made an EVERLASTING COVENANT to the nation of Israel concerning their rights to the land of Canaan. 100 years ago, people would have insisted that this promise couldn’t be literal. Today, we have UNDENIABLE evidence that it is!

If God meant it when He said this, do you think He means it when He promises us a “future and a hope”? Do you think He means it when He promises us that He will “wipe away every tear”? Do you think Jesus meant it when He promised that He would return?

My friends take God’s promises to the bank! Don’t doubt Him! Have a concrete confidence that the Lord will do what He has promised! Today, don’t let the opinions of man, or the circumstances of life dictate the decisions you make… Instead, base your choices and actions on the promises of God. BUILD YOUR LIFE ON THE ROCK!
